Who is behind Notioly?

Hey there, I’m Mary — a digital illustrator from Italy.

Talking about myself has never been my strong suit, so let’s focus on what Notioly is and how it came to life.

I’ve always loved art and drawing, but I wasn’t a professional illustrator, and I never went to art school. Before Notioly, I spent more than ten years working as a professional beautician and makeup artist. Then 2020 arrived. When the pandemic hit, I had to close my business for several months. Suddenly, I had a lot of time and I needed a new way to earn a living. So I asked myself: why not return to my first love, drawing?

At the time, I was using Notion to run my beauty salon and loved its clean, charming aesthetic. Just for fun (and practice), I started drawing Notion-style illustrations. The more I drew, the more I realized how happy it made me. So I gathered the first batch of illustrations I had created and decided to put them up for sale.

What happened next felt unreal. In a short time, people began buying my illustrations — and even reached out for custom work. That’s when I made the big decision to leave my old career behind. Five years later, here I am, making a living doing what I love.

And what about Notioly? Over these five years, it has grown into one of the largest single-style illustration collections on the market — more than 500 illustrations at the moment I’m writing this. These drawings have helped thousands of makers bring their templates, apps, websites, merch, and who knows what else to life.

Here’s to the next 500,
